Our Polish Style Lumber Jack is straight from the old country. Seasoned with traditional Polish flavors such as garlic and black pepper in a natural smoked casing. If you enjoy our Original and Spicy Lumber Jack Smoked Sausage, you are sure to love the robust flavors of the Polish Style.

There are tons of recipes on the internet featuring Polish smoked sausage, but here are a few of our favorites that we made right here in the Roger Wood Foods kitchen.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Polish Lumber Jack Sausage
½ cup Sauerkraut
1 Tbsp. Spicy Mustard
1 package of good quality buns

Directions:

1. Grill sausage to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Place grilled sausage in each bun.
3. Top with sauerkraut and mustard, amount according to preference.

Shepherd’s Pie with Sausage

Ingredients:

12 servings Mashed Potatoes

  • 6 medium Russet Potatoes
  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 cups Milk
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Garlic Powder to taste

16 ox package Cheddar Cheese
2 medium size cans Mixed Veggies
1 can Cream of Mushroom
1 lb. Polish Lumber Jack sausage– cubed

Directions:

1. Cook sausage according to package.
2. For the mashed potatoes:

  • Skin and dice potatoes.
  • Boil potatoes until tender.
  • Strain and mash potatoes.
  • Slowly stir in heavy whipping cream, butter and milk.
  • Add desired amount of salt, pepper and garlic powder.

3. In a large bowl, mix: mixed veggies, cream of mushroom, cooked sausage.
4. Spray cooking spray in a 13×9 in pan.
5. Spread mixture in pan.
6. Top with Mashed Potatoes.
7. Layer cheese on top.
8. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.

Ingredients:

4 Green Bell Peppers
Polish Lumber Jack Sausage links
8 oz. Cheddar Cheese
½ Vidalia Onion- diced

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook Polish Lumber Jack sausage to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
  3. Add onion to sausage in skillet.
  4. Cut green peppers into ¼ and remove seeds.
  5. Place pepper skins onto baking sheet with the skin side down.
  6. Place sausage and onion on top of green pepper boats.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top of each.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
