isn’t your ordinary corner restaurant. They’re Savannah’s stop for Southern Soul Food.

Native Savannahians, Kenneth and Vicky Brown, opened their home-cookin’ restaurant in 2009. Mr. Brown said they were looking to remind people of when their Grandmas were cooking. You know, back when nothing came from a box, cooking up dinner was an afternoon affair and you never left hungry. Continue Reading

July is National Hot Dog Month

July is National Hot Dog Month…

and who better to turn to for hot dog facts than the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council!

Here are a few of their fun facts:

“Los Angeles residents consume more hot dogs than any other city (over 40 million), beating out New York and Atlanta.

Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport consumes SIX times more hot dogs, 725,000 more than Los Angeles International Airport and LaGuardia Airport combined.

On Independence Day, Americans will enjoy 150 million hot dogs, enough to stretch from D.C. to L.A. more than five times.

During peak hot dog season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Americans typically consume 7 billion hot dogs. That’s 818 hot dogs consumed every second during that period.

Los Angeles Dodger fans are expected to consume a record 3,077,537 in 2014. Across the major leagues, fans are expected to eat 21.4 million hot dogs in 2014.”

That’s a LOT of hot dogs!

Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.” –Wikipedia

What do you and your families do to celebrate the fathers in your family? Do you spend a few hours out by the grill letting your dad be the ultimate Grill Master?

We think every dad deserves to be honored on this holiday, and since it falls in June every year, you know just the best grilling season, buying dad a grill, grill accessories or food to throw on the grill always seem like the best gifts. Grills are the ultimate cooking appliance. They open up endless opportunities for your menu all year round. You can throw on steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers, fruit, pizza- you name it, and you can probably grill it.

Whatever gift you bought or made for dad, the focus for the day is him and how much he means to you. Give him a big Thank You and Happy Father’s Day because he deserves it.

Who Would You Add To The List?

“The hot dog is one of those foods that’s nearly impossible to screw up. You heat it through, plop it on a bun, squirt on some mustard, and call it dinner. But there’s a big difference between not screwing something up and turning it into a paradigm-shifting, transcendental dining experience. And there are lots of hot dogs out there that have the power to change your life. Continue Reading

Hot Dog

http://buff.ly/1o7k2E8

hot dog is a cooked sausage, traditionally grilled or steamed and served in a sliced bun as a sandwich.[2][3][4][5] Hot dog variants include the corn dog dipped in corn batter and deep fried, pigs in blankets wrapped in dough, baked, and served as hors d’oeuvres, and Beanie Weenies chopped and mixed with baked beans. Typical hot dog garnishes include mustard, ketchuponionsmayonnaiserelishcheesechili, and sauerkraut.”

Everyone dresses their hot dog differently. To some, ketchup is seen as a big no-no. To others, its the best condiment out there for their hot dog. Some like it fried. Some like it grilled. Some like it boiled.

We have a few products that on any day of the week make the best hot dog meal. We call them franks. Wrap them up in a bun and dress away!

Prefer spicy? Try our Red Hots! Forewarning: You probably won’t be able to go back to the traditional dog…

Need to feed a lot of people? Try our Family Pack Franks!

Playyy Ball

Baseball season…

has officially started folks. We’ll be honest- we could hardly contain our excitement. Baseball is one of the great American sports. You grab your friends or family, ride down to the ball park (wherever you are), fire up your tailgate grill and have some cold ones, then head on down to the game.

Nine innings…

(or more) can go on for awhile, so what do you do? You get that mouthwatering hot dog from the vendor. This is why we love baseball season y’all. What is better than a hot dog in a ball park on a warm day? The answer is absolutely nothing. This little piece of heaven is tradition.

Let’s talk about memories…

Some of us remember enjoying this pass-time many a year ago with our Grandpap or Dad. Some of us remember a time when our rowdy group of college buds spent long hours at the ball park. Others remember the family affair that a baseball game can be. The glory about baseball is- it appeals to all ages and both genders. It’s America’s game, rich in tradition and spirit.

So get your “Hey Batta Batta” ready, sit, relax and enjoy the game.
