own meat packing company in 1936. Ten years later after W.W.II
and a temporary closing, Wood restarted the companys
operations as sole owner and named it Roger Wood Packing Company.
Shortly following W.W.II, his son in law, Joseph M. Solana
Jr. joined him in the business and began to build upon this
emerging legacy. By the early 70s the company had become
a recognized name in the state of Georgia, and demand for
the product from neighboring states was constantly building
from its reputation.
Following the entry into the business
by Solanas sons, the company became federally inspected
